One Day Finishing WorkshopInstructor: Laurie Bellin Many of the best knitters even have trouble when it comes to finishing garments. The great two part, one day session will teach you many of the finishing tools of the trade as well as help you in finishing one of your current projects. The first half of the class (10:00-1:00) will show you various finishing techniques and the second half (2:00-5:00) will help you through the specifics of your project. Please come to class with three 4X4 inch swatches and one 4x4 inch swatch still on your needles in any worsted or DK weight yarn. Our very own Trysh Lynch has developed a new and exciting method of crochet known as Leaning Hearts Crochet. It’s absolutely beautiful and the possibilities of creation are endless once you see it. It feels full and fluffy with the dimension of interior design. This class will teach you how to leverage Trysh’s technique across a variety of creations. Students will be able to make home furnishings such as a pillow or seat cushion or explore creation of a bag but the technique also has great utility across clothing and accessories. Fixes and Mistakes WorkshopInstructor: Laurie Bellin Ever dropped a stitch, realized after 6 or 7 rows that you purled when you should have knit? Well join us for this great 3 hour workshop that will help you work through some of the basics of fixes. The first half of the class will be devoted to basic techniques to help you through almost any mishap. For the second half of the workshop, bring in a project that’s been plaguing you or in which you need some help. Learn how to get through your project mistake and also see what others are tackling. Please come to workshop prepared with a roughly 4X4 inch swatch in any worsted or DK yarn still on your needles. As well bring your bag of tools like a darning needle, crochet hook, scissors, etc.

Technique: Knitting BackwardsInstructor: Trysh Lynch Have you encountered a pattern that calls for knitting backwards? Overheard someone talking about it? Ever wonder what that is or why it might be a key tool in your knitting arsenal? Knitting backwards is a fantastic technique with many uses. It can be used as a substitute for purling in most cases or making the stockinette without turning the work around. Short rows are easier to develop and keep track of. Lace also has a benefit. In freeform lace: the shapes, increases, yarn-overs and decreases may be done in either direction. Join Trysh Lynch for this great workshop that will add another great technique to your bag of tricks. Please bring a 3-4 inch swatch of a DK or worsted weight yarn still on the needles.
